T

he Symposium of Polish Women in Ireland was born out of beautiful relationships with women who live in Ireland and who, through their work, talent, perseverance, and courage, have achieved success and fulfillment despite various challenges, and who now share their experiences with other women.

The Symposium is a platform for women living abroad, not only in Ireland, bringing together women from academic, artistic, social, and business backgrounds with diverse professional and life experiences. We want the Symposium to focus on the strength of women and to be a voice for women living overseas. The voice of men, their support, and joint initiatives are also very important to us.

The Symposium is not only an event aimed at integration, inspiration, knowledge exchange, and support for Polish women abroad. Above all, it is a team of committed women who work together on projects for the Polish community and other women.

As part of the Symposium, the award committee grants the Symposium of Polish Women in Ireland Award, honouring women from the Polish diaspora who visibly support other women and the Polish community abroad. The Symposium is also a patron of the quarterly magazine “Portraits of Emigration,” published by CKU – Centre for Counselling and Therapy.

Symposium of Polish Women

2026

The Symposium of Polish Women in Ireland will once again bring together women from diverse backgrounds!

This year’s edition will take place at Trinity College Dublin and will provide an opportunity to discuss the role of women in emigrant communities, exchange experiences, and seek inspiration for future initiatives together.

The programme will include lectures, panel discussions, workshops, a concert, and artistic performances.

Concert

Trzy kolory

This is an intimate musical project where Polish jazz meets inspirations drawn from old Polish music and subtle Brazilian influences. The music is deeply rooted in tradition, yet retold through improvisation, sensitivity, and attentive listening to one another. Familiar melodies and motifs gain a fresh sound here, while the whole performance moves freely between structure and spontaneity.

What matters most in this project is the relationship between the musicians. The trio creates its sound through dialogue — responding to one another in real time and leaving space for breath, silence, and emotion. As a result, every concert is slightly different — more of an encounter than a performance of a fixed programme.

The ensemble consists of: Rafał Szydłowski (violin), Gustavo de Morais (guitar), and Kasia Eliasz (vocals). Together, they create a cohesive and organic sound in which every element becomes part of a shared story.

Human

Portrait

I invite you into the world of portraits, where everyone can feel unique.

Very soon, on 22nd and 23rd May, every participant of the 2nd Symposium of Polish Women Living in Ireland will have the opportunity to step in front of my camera and receive a special portrait.

My name is Aleksandra Maj — I am a photographer, filmmaker, and co-creator of the Human Portrait project.

Human Portrait is a social and artistic initiative whose aim is to photograph as many people around the world as possible. The photographs and short video recordings are created in a black-and-white aesthetic.

Thanks to the invitation from CKU – Centre for Counselling and Therapy to take part in the 2nd Symposium, the project will, for the first time, extend beyond the borders of Poland.

It will be an honour for me to photograph all the Symposium participants and to become part of such a unique event.

Entrepreneurial Polish Women in Ireland

“Premiere of the research report: Femigracja. Entrepreneurial Polish Women in Ireland.”

The project “Femigracja. Entrepreneurial Polish Women in Ireland” is a research and social initiative carried out by CKU – Centre for Counselling and Therapy and co-funded by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ireland.

The project demonstrates that women living abroad not only adapt to new realities, but also actively help shape them — by creating businesses, jobs, social initiatives, and spaces for collaboration.
